Let’s meet

Michelle Beckley

Candidate for State Representative,
Texas House District 63

Democrat

The proof:

“It's been two years since the disastrious Dobbs decision, which gave states the power to restrict abortion access. It's simple: healthcare decisions should be between a woman and her doctor. Full stop.”

Because this would be a disaster:

Extremist

Ben Bumgarner

Ben sponsored a bill that bans the distribution of medication abortion drugs and information about abortion, including via the Internet, and authorizes private citizens to enforce it.

“Enough is enough! Most of the women in this story are from Texas or Florida. These extreme abortion bans are not the answer!”

“Today while calling voters, I got my first heartbreaking abortion story and why a voter is now a former Republican. She had many complications having her children. If she hadn't been able to have a procedure (years ago) that doctors in Texas are no longer routinely providing because of lawsuit fears, then her chances of her second healthy child would have been greatly reduced. She fears for women in Texas. We cried on the phone together and vowed to keep fighting for women's reproductive rights. #WomensRightsAreHumanRights”

“Today, we celebrate a monumental victory for reproductive rights and womens health. This ruling ensures continued access to mifepristone, a safe and effective FDA-approved medication that millions have relied on over the past two decades. However, our fight is far from over. Extremist anti-abortion candidates like my opponent are determined to further roll back womens rights to the Stone Age during the 89th #txlege. We simply can't afford to lose more ground- our rights depend on it. Chip in $5 or whatever you can so we can send my opponent packing.”

“Take aways from the Kansas pro-choice results. 1. Voter turnout was extremely high. 2. 70% of newly registered voters were women. Historically its 50/50. 3. Who ever put abortion protections in their constitution was forward thinking & other states need to do it.”
