A bill that would make an assault on a fetus subject to the same standards as if the fetus were born. It treats the fetus as a living person for purposes of this law.

A bill that would allow delivery to a county jail, if that jail provides medical care, of medication, including birth control pills. This would add county jails to other Medicaid and Medicare facilities, such as rural health clinics, to the facilities that receive medication under certain licensing conditions.

HB 4496

A bill that requires insurers to provide coverage for birth control pills, 12 12-month supply at one time, and not limit it to 30 or 90 days. The insurer must also allow the insured to obtain a prescription for the drugs. It does affect copays- insurers can charge them, and insurers are not required to give a 12-month supply within 30 days of the expiration of the insurance coverage.
