Take Action

What to do now:

Tell Danny how important it is that we codify the right to an abortion:

This legislator seems to believe that abortion rights are fine as-is, even after the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

What to say:

Call your legislator and push them to vote to protect abortion rights. They may be open to switching positions if they hear enough from their constituents.

  • Introduce yourself, including your relation to the district.
  • Emphasize your role in the local community.
  • Explain why it is important to you that the right to abortion be protected. Personal stories can help.
  • Ask if they will commit to voting for any legislation that will protect the right to an abortion.
  • If they say no, ask if they will commit to voting against any legislation that will further limit access to abortion.

The latest from Danny

Joining fellow Republicans, Britt voted this month in favor of a ban on most abortions after 12 weeks – which would further restrict the current ban after 20 weeks. Britt said he wanted “something longer” than 12 weeks, noting that his wife did not know she was pregnant with their son until she was 11 weeks along. But, he said, the legislation “was absolutely better than what we have in current law.”
