“I am a strong supporter of reproductive rights for Georgia women. I will do what I can to restore the rights and freedoms women had in this state prior to the passage of House Bill 481 in 2019 (which passed by one vote in the House) and the recent Supreme Court decision.”

Signed a brief addressed to the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold abortion rights. Stating: “The constitutional precepts which State Legislators must protect include the principle enunciated by this Court, as firmly encompassed by the right to privacy, that a woman has the right to decide to terminate a pre-viability pregnancy without undue governmental interference…. “As a fundamental right guaranteed by the constitution, and one that strikes at the heart of ordered liberty and individual autonomy, a woman’s right to decide whether to terminate a pre-viability pregnancy should be insulated from the rhetoric and interests of groups whose sole purpose is to undermine Roe and eliminate the fundamental rights enunciated in that case….”

“I've been silent on passage of HB 481 because I haven't yet found the words. The Georgia Legislature has passed the most restrictive abortion law in the country. Legislators supporting the measure refused to listen to doctors and medical experts. OB/GYNs are threatening to leave the state. A woman's health records will be shared with the local district attorney. I hope voters will hold their legislators accountable. I voted No.”

“Yesterday was a tough day at the State Capitol. HB 481 passed, banning abortion in Georgia after 6 weeks. If a pregnant women is having problems or miscarrying, she will be out of luck, because her doctor will be a criminal if she's provided with care that could harm the baby. And then there are the crazy parts of the bill, like giving a tax break to pregnant women and letting them ride in the HOV lane. The vote was 93-73 which was close as 91 votes are required to pass a bill. 10 Republicans didn't vote. So here is a group of us this morning, providing each other with support and encouragement.”
