“Pro-Life Victory Alert Today, the Supreme Court of Texas unanimously upheld the constitutionality of the Human Life Protection Act. This 2021 law protects unborn babies from abortion beginning at conception, while affirming the availability and clarity of the medical necessity exception. The law was recently challenged in a lower court. However, the Supreme Courts ruling reversed the lower courts order, which had broadened the abortion exception, thus allowing the original law to continue. This is a significant victory for the protection of the unborn! I am proud to have joined 91 of my colleagues in submitting an amicus brief to the Supreme Court which defended the law and made the point that nowhere in the state constitution is there a right to abortion.”
