In a 2012 race, Jason gave the following response in an interview. Q: Do you support women’s reproductive rights, including the “right to choose” as set out by the U.S. Supreme Court in Roe v. Wade? Do you support the recently passed state requirements on ultrasounds and waiting periods for women seeking an abortion? Do you support attempts to eliminate funds for Planned Parenthood? A: I believe the law requiring ultrasounds and waiting periods makes sense. With something as serious as an abortion procedure, a woman should have all the information necessary available to her to make an informed decision.

“I truly do consider myself to be pro-life and the idea of abortion sickens me. However, I also believe in limited government and am a man, therefore, I do not feel that it is my place nor the governments to force a women who was raped, or whose life is endangered to have a child. However, I also feel that using abortion as a form of birth control is 100% wrong, and only feel that the practice of abortion is acceptable in cases of incest, rape or the mothers life is endangered.”
