Want to contribute to Choice Tracker?
After the Dobbs decision overturned Roe vs. Wade, and took away the constitutional right to abortion, the battle for abortion access moved to the state governments.
At Choice Tracker, we're helping pro-choice Americans engage with their legislatures by breaking down bills, tracking the actions and positions of lawmakers, and motivating people to act.
Learn more about our impactThere is a steep learning curve to tracking and understanding bills that are introduced in the state legislature. This information can be difficult to find, the implications hard to understand, and the legal language complicated to parse.
Infographics, videos, and web tools (coming soon!) help constituents stay up-to-date and knowledgeable.
We firmly believe that education and understanding is the first step to activism.
State Legislators do not get constant press attention. The votes they take aren't publicized, and statements they make are often hidden deep in social media timelines.
We're pulling publicly available information and putting it in one place (and linking to sources) so that constituents can easily understand exactly where their representatives fall.
This context is essential to engaging with legislators in a meaningful way.
All of this knowledge serves as a foundation for the actions that will protect and expand abortion access.
As bills come up for votes, we digitally organize to give users the tools they need to have meaningful conversations with the lawmakers that represent them, including contact information, talking points, and a forum to share the outcome of the conversation.
In the election seasons, we adjust our focus to include the importance of voting for pro-choice legislators - helping voters decide between candidates, and motivating them to vote accordingly.
In 2024, we plan to bring Choice Tracker to 10 states. This is a huge undertaking compared to years past. We’ve spent the past year building the infrastructure to support this growth, and are now looking for volunteers and funding to make it a reality.
If you’re interested in partnering to bring Choice Tracker to your state, please reach out to partners@choicetracker.org.
We’re putting together a volunteer team of lawyers, researchers, and content experts.
